Is Maine too generous in providing social services to its residents? Which government benefits should be increased or decreased?

No. Increase health benefits. Increase programs for low income families and seniors in Maine.

Do you support expanding or raising the sales tax to lower the state income tax? Why or why not?

No. In General I would like to avoid raising sales taxes. Sales taxes are regressive. They burden low income citizens more than those with more wealth and are therefore disproportionatly unfair.

Do you support marijuana legalization in Maine, as outlined in Question 1?

Yes

Please explain your answer. (Not required)

No response.

Do you support raising taxes on Mainers with incomes above $200,000 to increase state aid to education, as outlined in Question 2?

Yes

Please explain your answer. (Not required)

Maine has failed to meet it's obligation to provide 55% Revenue Sharing to Municipal Communities forcing property taxes to rise across Maine to fund schools. Voting Yes on Question #2 will provide our schools with funds needed to provide ALL Maine Students with good quality educations.

Do you support universal background checks for firearm sales, as outlined in Question 3?

No

Please explain your answer. (Not required)

I support background checks, but Question #3 covers more legislation than just background checks and as written is not clear in it's language. I can not support legislation that is not extremely clear when it regards our US Constitution's Second Amendment.

Should Maine raise its minimum wage, as outlined in Question 4?

Yes

Please explain your answer. (Not required.)

Yes, for many, many reasons! That's why in 2015, I personally circulated & collected around 600 valid signatures on the Petition that got Question #4 placed on the November 2016 Ballot.

What is the biggest barrier to economic development in Maine and what can the Legislature do to address it?
